Abhi Chadha is a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School in Alexandria, VA. He joined GIVE last year on the Summer Core Team, where he helped develop a basic tutor training system. After that, he worked as an Assistant Center Manager for the Cascades Library Branch in Sterling, VA. He originally joined GIVE because of his passion for volunteering, and his belief that volunteering is only effective when one causes change at a community level. His hobbies include reading and watching movies.
Christina is currently a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. She joined GIVE her sophomore year as a tutor, because she enjoyed interacting with children and helping others. Christina has continued tutoring, and has even participated on Core Team and served as one of the Southgate Center Managers. In her free time, she enjoys watching television, biking, and travelling.
Matt is a rising senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. He started GIVE as a tutor his freshman year at the Herndon Center before becoming a center manager at Cascades and later becoming an Executive his junior year. He enjoys working with GIVE because he is passionate about giving back and establishing beneficial relationships in the community.
Sruthi is a Senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. She started tutoring with GIVE her freshman year at Centreville because she enjoyed working with kids. She was on Core Team for two years and this is her second year working on Executive Team. Her hobbies include volunteering and dancing.
Adarsh Kulkarni is a Junior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. He joined GIVE after his freshman year as a great way to give back to his community. Some of his other hobbies include playing tenor sax in the school band as well as 3D printing and coding Android Apps. Fun fact: He is the co-founder of a start-up aiming to revolutionize the restaurant space.
Rachel Alexander is a junior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and
Technology. She joined GIVE during her freshmen year in high school as a tutor because she enjoyed giving back to her community and tutoring younger children. She was on Core Team for one year and this is her first year on the Executive team. Her hobbies include playing the piano, singing in an all girls acapella group, beatboxing, and volunteering
Rashel is a rising junior, and started her involvement with GIVE as a Core Team member prior to
her sophomore year. Having loved the experience of working on a team where everyone vied for a common goal-creating a productive and effective learning environment for children, she served as one of the center managers for the Centreville Center. This is her first year on Executive Team. Apart from GIVE, her hobbies include reading, writing, dancing, working with children, and volunteering. She cannot wait to see what the future holds for GIVE!
